Second Shift FT Nanny Needed for Chicago Family - Closed

Professional family in Chicago seeks full time nanny for their two children, a preschooler and a toddler, to begin January.
  • Hours are Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. There is some flexibility to start and end earlier on one or two days depending on coordinating schedules with other full time nanny. It is important that the nanny be very flexible and on call for the family. 
  • Nanny must drive and have a clean driving record; additionally, nanny must be able to supply a  vehicle with room for two car seats. Family would reimburse for mileage for job related use of car.
  • Competitive salary ($20 to $22/hour), including sick/personal days; paid holidays; and paid vacation.
  • Nanny should be honest; kind and loving; patient; intelligent; flexible; able to take children to school, activities and play dates; able to take a role in therapeutic, educational and personal development of the children.
  • Should be able to adapt to the schedule and the routine of the household; additionally, should be able to work closely, efficiently and effectively with other full time nanny.
  • Excellent English required.
  • Very desirable to have a person with a background in early elementary education.
  • Responsibilities include taking toddler to and from activities taking preschooler to and from school, activities and play dates; preparing healthy meals and feeding; getting both children ready in the mornings and putting both children to bed; giving the children baths; doing children’s laundry, making children’s beds and keeping children’s rooms and play area tidy; reading books to children.
  • Additional responsibilities include shopping for children’s clothing and supplies; housework, such as cleaning up after meals and work; children’s laundry.
  • Neighborhood is accessible by public transportation; family has a parking spot in the parking garage. Neighborhood is close to parks, Michigan Avenue, shops, etc.
  • There are no pets.

Oak Park family seeks wonderful temporary nanny! - Closed

Busy professional family with two children in Oak Park seek temporary full time nanny, to begin in December and continue through the end of March or the middle of April.
  • Family has a newborn and an older child, who goes to day care. Mother is on maternity leave through December. 
  • Beginning December 6th, nanny will care for both children; later older child will go to day care. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5 p.m. In January, hours will be lengthened to 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.; in January, care will be for infant only.
  • Standard compensation and benefits.
  • Family will be out of town during the holidays.
  • Responsibilities will include all care of the children (or the infant after the older child is in day care); light housework, such as cleaning up after the children, etc. It would be ideal if nanny could do family laundry and start dinner for the family.
  • Family desires a non smoker, and must come from a non smoking family.
  • Should have previous experience with infants and young children.
  • Mature, dependable, responsible.
  • Ideally a degree in early childhood education, child development, or child psychology is preferable, but not required.
  • Nanny should be organized and highly structured, but allow for flexibility and adaptability regarding the changing needs of the children.
  • Should be creative and able to develop activities to keep children engaged and active.
  • Should look for teachable moments, and be able to help the older child with numbers, letters of the alphabet, etc.
  • Nanny should drive and have a safe driving record; should be able to provide a car with proof of insurance and room for two car seats.
  • Parking is readily available.
  • Family has a very large, friendly dog; very little care is required of the dog, although nanny needs to like dogs and not be allergic. 
  • Lovely location.
  • Nanny will need to have proof of a flu shot and a Tdap booster.

  • Professional family in Lincoln Park seeks full time nanny for their newborn, to begin sometime between December and March.
  • Monday through Friday, Full - Time Exact hours TBD. Mother does need nanny to be able to stay late with little notice; flexibility is of the utmost importance.
  • Nanny should drive and have a safe driving record; family does provide a car for use on the job. Parking is provided for the nanny’s car.
  • Top of the market compensation ($20 to $25/hour), including paid sick and personal days; paid holidays; and paid vacation.
  • Flexibility and reliability are key characteristics of this position.
  • Both parents have extremely demanding jobs, and the nanny will need to be prepared to support the family.
  • Perfect English and excellent communication skills are a firm requirement of the position.

  • Monday through Friday, approximately 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; schedule will vary from week to week, but will be known in advance.
  • Possibility of evening or weekend hours but not required.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including paid holidays and vacation. 
  • Extensive experience with infants verifiable references are required. Ideally a background in early childhood education--nice, but not required.
  • Nanny should be loving, kind, patient, and thoughtful.
  • Should demonstrate a genuine love for children.
  • Responsibilities include all care for the baby, including play/activities/reading throughout the day.

  • Some flexibility may be required on occasion if both parents are traveling; this will be known in advance.
  • Parents have one child who attends school full time, and an infant.
  • Competitive compensation, including paid sick/personal days; paid holidays; and paid vacation. 
  • Family is hoping to have the nanny a long time.
  • Must drive and have a safe driving record; must have a clean, serviceable vehicle with proof of insurance and room for two car seats.
  • Nanny will need to drop child off at school and pick him up; driving to any activities or play dates.
  • Previous nanny was bilingual, and older child speaks Spanish well. 
  • Nanny will also have full charge of the infant—feeding, changing diapers, bathing, tummy time, establishing and maintaining a sleep schedule, etc.. As baby grows, nanny will take the child to classes and activities.

  • Accessible to public transportation; close to Millenium Park; lakeshore; museums; the library; shopping. Park and playground close by. Family has an extra parking spot available for use on the job.
